Cannondale won this award for the third phase of this multi-phase project, which included the redesign, remodel, and creation of the kitchen, family room, powder room, dining room, and deluxe laundry room.

Andrew LaSala of Cannondale Building & Design was named 2004 Remodeler of the Year at the annual Home Builders Assocation (HBA) of Connecticut Industry and Service Awards.

Best Room Addition

Working with Gary MacIntyre of MacIntyre Associates, Cannondale Building & Design added a 20' x 20' sunroom designed to match the existing colonial manor house, with clear cedar clapboard, matching architectural trim, and 30-year matching architectural roof. Sixteen tru-divided light Marvin Windows with transoms were installed with two Marvin french doors, leading to a new bluestone patio.

Best Remodeled Kitchen under $100,000

Cannondale Building & Design, working alongside Michael Palumbo of Michael Palumbo Designs, totally remodeled and enlarged this kitchen. Demolishing the existing kitchen down to the framing, Cannondale Building & Design installed a new structural flush beam allowing for a higher ceiling in family dining area and a new roof framing system over the kitchen, creating a vaulted ceiling with skylight. To complete the look, Madura Gold dark granite countertops were installed, with the island countertop designed in the shape of a baby grand piano.

Best Remodeled Kitchen over $100,000

Cannondale Building & Design, working in conjunction with Michael Palumbo of Michael Palumbo Designs, created a new kitchen/family dining area. The existing laundry room, kitchen, and family dining area were demolished. The laundry room was relocated to the second floor and the existing dining room and den were remodeled. New red oak flooring was installed, along with Silver Sea Green granite countertops, and top-quality appliances including Dacor double convection ovens and a 48" Sub-zero refrigerator.

Unanimously awarded to Cannondale by the Home Builders and Remodelers Association (HBRA) Board of Directors for continued excellence, dedication, ethics, and contributions to the industry.

Best Residential Remodeled Bathroom

The renovation required the existing master bathroom to be demolished. The bathroom sub flooring, which had water damage and was structurally unsound, was completely replaced, the twisted wall studs were removed and replaced, and the ductwork was resized and relocated. The new look includes Crystal Elite Huntington cabinets, Kilimanjaro Corion for the countertop and bathtub, Sole Affreschi grigio/beige tiles on the bathroom and shower floors and shower walls, and brushed stainless fixtures and hardware.

Cannondale demolished a small one story room in this 1930's Westport cape, and built an elegant library addition. The new library is outfitted with chimney and masonry fireplace, custom cherry mantle, one piece marble surround and hearth cherry cabinetry, wainscoting, chair rail, crown and dentil moldings and Brazilian cherry floor.

Best Remodeled Kitchen under $100,000

The existing kitchen in this Bronxville home was demolished and a new, larger kitchen, family room and mudroom was created. The space is outfitted with mocha glazed white cabinets, granite tops, tile floor, and Sub Zero, Viking, Dcor & Bosch appliances. The family room includes a media center with surround and flat screen TV.

2000 Builders Care Award

The Builders Care Award was created by the Home Builders Association of Connecticut to recognize the good that builders do for their communities. Cannondale received this award for its effort in rescuing a recently widowed Wilton resident when the remodeler she hired abandoned the project, leaving her house in the midst of construction and exposed to the elements.

Diane LaSala was recognized at the 2000 HOBI Award ceremony for her contributions to the home building industry and for her role as founder and owner of Cannondale.

Best Residential Remodeling $150,000-$250,000

Cannondale received this award for its work on the Wild Flower Lane Residence. The Home Builders Association of Connecticut's HOBI Award is the most prestigious building recognition in Connecticut.
